Crewe of Columbus

The Crew of Columbus parade started with a bang. The organization shot off fireworks from the roof of the Civic Center to mark the beginning of the parade. This has been the practice of the organization since their 75th anniversary. The parade was fun even thought throws were not as plentiful as they had been for the past few parades. The Order of Venus rolled about twenty minutes later to a much smaller crowd. The ladies who are were suppose to parade on Tuesday behind the Order of Lashe's were allowed to parade on this Friday. I wonder who they know to get such a deal?

Mystic Stripers

On Thursday night the Mystic Stripers Society held their parade and ball. I am a past Queen of this organization and always attend the parade and ball. Their parade always draws a large crowd because they are know for throwing a lot. This year was not exception. The parade was beautiful and everyone went home with bags of goodies. One of their floats broke down and again the police department made the members walk back to the auditorium from over twelve blocks away. The ball was terrific and I stayed until the end.
