Saturday night I went to the Don Donas ball at the ABBA Shrine. The stage was set with musical notes and records to showcase the theme 'Looney Tunes'. Gavin and I met my dad and grandmother at the Tillman's Trickter's parade. The parade has always been very small but this year it seemed even smaller than normal. There were only three floats with members and the rest of the parade was advertisements and various groups from the community. Well this is a slow week. Most all of the meetings and rehersals are done. I still have to try on my costumes and bag my throws. There will still a few more open houses and parties. Last week consisted of lots of meetings to finalize last minute details for the upcoming ball. Wednesday we had a room meeting the a general membership meeting on Thursday, followed by a parade committee meeting on Friday at lunch. Thursday night was a very crowded meeting. After the meeting a lot of us went to The Executive Lounge for some drinks.

On Saturday Gavin and I got up and went to Dauphin Island to see the Island Mystic's parade. The Island Mystics are a smaller organization even though they are the older of the two Dauphin Island organziations. My dad came down and brought my grandmother. We got a spot in about the same location where we stood last week. There was a tree there and we decided to decorate it for the occasion.

On Sunday we attended the open house at the float barn for one of my organizations. There were lots of games for the kids and we got to look at our floats for our theme 'Wicked Women'. There was a band and a DJ and lots of food and refreshments. I stayed until the end.

A large crowd grew on the streets of downtown last night to see the first Mobile Mardi Gras parade of the season roll through the streets. The Conde Cavaliers have chose the them Ports of Paradise. Memphis and Bowling Green are playing in the GMAC Bowl Game tonight here in Mobile. Last night we had a Mardi Gras parade and pep rally downtown. All the Mardi Gras organization are able to put one float in the parade if they want to.

On Saturday we had a work party for my room in one of my Mardi Gras societies. The main focus was out camels who have been around for over 10 years. These camels, named Clyde and Clydette were introduces when we did an arabian theme and for some reason we loved them so much we have dressed them up in every outfit you can imagine. However after all of these years they needed a bit of a makeover.

On Monday Toy called me and told me that I was parading Wendsday night. I went to my organization's Womanless Fashion Show on July 23rd. I was hoping to have some pictures but I forgot my camera. The next day I was suppose to go to Lesleigh's house to reherse for a skit we are doing in October at a Mardi Gras dance but I couldn't get up.
